Because BitLens is designed with privacy as a core principle, we collect minimal to no personal data. This makes our GDPR compliance straightforward.

BitLens is the data controller for any personal data processed through this service.

2. What Data We Collect
We collect NO personal data.
BitLens processes files entirely in your browser. We do not:
- Collect your name, email, or address
- Track your IP address
- Use cookies or tracking technologies
- Store any files on our servers

Since we do not collect personal data, many GDPR rights are not applicable. However, you have the right to:
- Right to be informed - This policy explains our data practices
- Right of access - Request information about any data we might have (none in our case)
- Right to rectification - Request correction of inaccurate data
- Right to erasure - Request deletion of your data (we have none to delete)
- Right to data portability - Request your data in a machine-readable format
- Right to object - Object to processing of your personal data
4. Data We Do Not Collect
To be absolutely clear, BitLens does NOT collect:
- Personal identification information
- Contact information
- Usage data
- Cookies or similar tracking technologies
- IP addresses or device identifiers
- Location data
- Any files you upload (processed locally only)
5. Third-Party Data Sharing
We do NOT share your personal data with any third parties. When you use BitLens:
- Your files are processed locally in your browser
- Only anonymized image frames (224x224 JPEGs) are sent to our AI provider
- These frames cannot be used to identify you or reconstruct your original files
- Our AI provider (Hugging Face) does not retain these frames
6. Legal Basis for Processing
Since we do not collect personal data, we do not rely on any legal basis for processing your personal data. However:
- Processing happens locally on your device with your consent
- The service is provided at your request
- No profiling or automated decision-making is performed
7. Data Retention
We retain no personal data.
Files you upload are processed in memory and immediately discarded. No copies are stored on our servers. There is no data to retain or delete.
8. Children's Data
BitLens does not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 years of age. Our service is designed to process files locally without any data collection, making it safe for users of all ages.
9. Right to Lodge a Complaint
If you believe your data protection rights have been violated, you have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority in your EU member state.
However, since we do not collect personal data, there would be no basis for such a complaint regarding BitLens.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this GDPR page from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date.
